Mystery Music Camp

April school vacation meant Mystery Music Camp at the studio. We had 8 kids for the week and we packed in loads of learning! On Day 1, they broke into teams of 4 and created their own detective agency...

The Treble Clef Detective Agency!

The Sharp Sleuths!

We introduced the families of the orchestra and focused the day on the brass instruments!

Nice job, Justin!

Each day we focused on another family of instruments. We also spent each day doing "Detective Fieldwork". We went to 5 different stations each day and focused on the staff, musical terminology, listening skills with Saint Saens, "Carnival of the Animals" and a couple of excerpts from "Can You Hear It?" by William Lach, rhythm drills and investigating different instruments.

Of course, no camp is complete without some fun outdoor activities...

We had a GREAT time and all of us are looking forward to Summer Music Camp!
